Aww! ... and also ARGH!
My fluffy labradoodle didn't eat any more than one mouthful of food while I was gone for four entire days. Some of my friends watched him, and played with him, and took him for walks and everything, but he didn't eat.
This is sort of sweet, but also ARTHUR YOU IDIOT YOU NEED TO EAT TO SURVIVE!
Fortunately, as soon as I got home he ate a half a bowl of food in about thirty seconds, and he has finally done his business normally (he hadn't the whole time my friends took care of him...) So he's okay.
I love my dog. : -)

I'm perfectly convinced my little feline would rather starve if I didn't get up in the middle of the night when she comes annoying me for food even if the bowl is full and keep her company. ;-)

I had to laugh when I read this:
"ARTHUR YOU IDIOT YOU NEED TO EAT TO SURVIVE!"
. . . because I've just been working on a "Little Dorrit" story that touches on how Arthur Clennam wouldn't eat while he was in prison. Holy coincidence!

(Also, Arthur's middle name is Clennam. :-P )

My brother named him Arthur. And he doens't know why. But Arthur is black (and Clennam is always called "dark" so I assume his hair is black) and Arthur is a very mild dog, and Arthur is just a sweetheart who wants everyone to be happy, etc. It just seemed right, so I named him Arthur Clennam B-- [see that cool Victorian thing I just did there?] after we had had him for a few months. :-)
