So, I just discovered if I stand in a different room from my recording device, it records much better.

But of course, on the downside, I can't hear recorded accompaniment....so I'm sharp a lot...

And high notes still cause it to go a little bit crazy.  Oh well.

And I should stick to the soprano stuff.  I always wanted to be mezzo...but I'm definitely not... :-(

In other news, my teacher called me "the idiot savant of sopranos."  I laughed, and then he said "I mean that affectionately, of course."

Haha! 

I just thought it was funny, because my mom calls me an idiot savant in non-singing contexts all the time.
