I shall call my new computer Spock.  He does not seem to have the hard drive limitations that Sherlock does, nor does he have dark moods the way Sherlock does.

Then I shall call my external harddrive Sherlock.

I feel so much better having made that decision.

I got this from [livejournal.com profile] dreamflower02 .  And she gave me a fun drabble, so  now I'm passing it on!

The first TEN people to comment, in this post or in future, get to request that I write a drabble of any character of their choosing.* In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.

*If you want something decent, you should probably stick to characters in Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek.  :-)

Some of you may remember that last semester I had the rather frightening experience of being informed by a student that "I looked you up on google."  Fortunately, there is nothing really bad there...but still...

Well, this semester's batch of students are note takers. They take neat detailed notes like crazy...which is already sort of scary.  But last class (our first on King Lear) I said,

"Just so you guys know, to me 'Edmund' is a good guy name because of The Chronicles of Narnia and 'Edgar' is a bad guy name because of The Aristocats, so if I am talking about one and you're really confused because it sounds like I'm talking about the other, please say something, because I very well may be."

(I got them mixed up while talking CONSTANTLY last semester, so it seemed like a good disclaimer to make.)

The moment I finished saying this, one of the students started writing assiduously in her notebook...

Now I'm really scared.

:-D
