Hello livejournal friends!
I am auditioning for some Messiah solos tomorrow, and as I realized over the past week or so at least half of you are musical-types, I am shamlessly requesting feedback from anyone who is willing to suffer through me singing four solos acapella.
Any kind of feedback (good and bad! Believe me when I say that you cannot be harder on me than I am when I hear these recordings) would be very much appreciated. I am particularly concerned about all the ornamentation. I have no idea if anyone on my f-list has Baroque ornamentation know-how, but I'm looking for "it sounds weird" / "it doesn't sound weird" feedback, really. (Also, is it possible to hear WHAT I'm singing? I'm so concerned right now with loosening up that I sort of forget about diction...a lot!)
"If God be for us, who can be against us." (should note that there is a lag at the beginning of all of these, as I had to start the recording and then run off into another room so the recording quality wouldn't be quite as bad.)

And finally, I couldn't post these recordings without giving you something very beautiful to listen to. Sylvia McNair is one of my favorite singers, and she does these BEAUTIFULLY! I want to be her when I grow up...minus the shiny gold dress...)
