Seriously?

Randomly went onto the American Girl Dolls website to see what new historical character dolls they'd come up with.
Discovered to my horror that Felicity, Kirsten, and Samantha are gone. That is, all the white characters from before 1900 are gone. I have no problem with adding an escaped slave, a native American, and a Mexican, etc. They, too, are American girls, and that's a part of our American heritage. But... no representative of colonial America? No representative of the pioneers? No representative of late nineteenth century America?
It seems weird to me to carefully represent the minority and then exclude the majority.
And again, I'm not in any way taking issue with a representation of the minority... I'm just saying that that just cut out the heritage of a lot of American girls...
*sigh*
